Our story

Diem was born from a frustration that almost every serious creator understands, the longer your career goes on, the harder it becomes to manage the volume of work you’ve created.

Files end up spread across hard drives, servers, cloud accounts, and old archives. Important footage gets lost in the noise. Finding the right clip can take far longer than it should. And too often, great work goes unused simply because it’s too difficult to find.

We built Diem to change that.

Diem is a modern media management platform designed for creators who need more than folders and file names. It gives you one place to see, search, and manage your archive across all of your storage, while AI helps you find content based on what’s actually in your media.

Our belief is that your archive should be an asset, not a burden.

Diem exists to help creators stay organised, move faster, and get more value from every piece of content they’ve ever made.

Diem was built by creators and operators who experienced the problem from both sides — managing content at scale, and building systems to support it.

Sam Kolder is a filmmaker and creator who built his career producing high-end visual content across the world. As his archive grew, so did the challenge of managing years of footage spread across multiple drives. The turning point came while creating his online course, Kolder Creative, where he needed to retrieve and organise old content, and realised just how broken the process was.

Alongside him is Kai, who co-founded Kolder Creative with Sam. Through their work and while building the film school, she saw the same problem emerge — the friction of managing and reusing content across growing archives. Kai has played a key role in shaping how Diem feels and functions, ensuring it’s intuitive, visually considered, and built for how creators actually work.

Elliot Napier joined after recognising the scale of the problem and the opportunity to build something category-defining. With a background spanning both startups and large corporates, Elliot focused on shaping Diem into a long-term platform, not just a tool — aligning product, strategy, and growth.

Adrian leads the technical architecture behind Diem. He is the founder of the widely used software Gyroflow. With a focus on building scalable, high-performance systems, he has been instrumental in translating the product vision into reality — solving complex challenges around indexing, file analysis, and performance across large, distributed media libraries.

Together, the team brings a combination of creative experience, operational thinking, and deep technical expertise — building Diem not just as software, but as infrastructure for the modern creator.
